A
TRIBUTE TO SAM:
30th May 1995 - 26th July 2007
Regular visitors to the Castle will undoubtedly have encountered Sam, our lovely
Labrador. Sam has been a part of the Castle for over twelve years and was
loved by us all. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on 26th July and
we will all miss him very much. For more pictures of Sam with Bluebell,

NEW
ARRIVAL!
In November, after an appeal by BBC television, we adopted ‘Wild Willy’ the ‘Houdini’ escaping goat that nobody wanted. He
is now settled in with the other animals here at the Castle and looking forward, along with his stepbrother ‘Fearless Freddie’,
to welcome visitors, trying to steal their picnics and generally cause mischief between them both.
CLOVER - LOVED
BY MILLIONS OF SCHOOL CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE!
Clover, the world's most famous deer, passed away this year at
the incredible age of 21. Clover, a fallow deer, went into the Guinness
Book of Records last year after reaching the grand old age of 20, making her
the longest-lived deer in the world. She lived with several other
rescued deer at the Castle.
Thousands of school children and adults alike had the rare privilege to
know and interact with this much loved and beautiful animal that will be
sadly missed.
